Dear Kristin
I know that I should be eating breakfast but I am not hungry in the morning and my coffee usually fills me up. Do you have any suggestions?

Dear Sarah,
You are correct that you should be eating breakfast. In addition to that you should be drinking water before your coffee too. We all wake up dehydrated so the sooner we help our bodies re-hydrate the quicker we feel awake. The other benefit of water first thing is that it stimulates your appetite. Start with a small glass of water- a few ounces or so and have some breakfast handy so that when you do get hungry you don’t force yourself to wait for lunch. In about a week you might actually look forward to breakfast and the 25% boost in your metabolism and increased mental focus that comes with it!

Good Luck! Keep me posted!

Dear Kristin
I am bored and not disciplined enough to consistently challenge myself in my workouts. I feel like I am not getting any results and I can’t afford a trainer at this time. What would you suggest?

Thanks,

Dear Kelly,
I think a lot of people might find themselves in your same position. The good news is that the weather is getting better so you might have a chance for some outdoor variety.

Here is what I suggest for right now. Look around your grocery or drug store for the workout DVD section. They will generally range in cost from $10-$20. Buy one DVD or DVD with a simple piece of fitness equipment and decide that you are going to use it between 5-10x. After you are bored with it, get another DVD or find a class or new outdoor walk/run route and decide to try that for a few times. Don’t put pressure on yourself to have to commit to a new routine forever- that always takes the fun out of it.

The best way to get results and stay disciplined is to keep changing up your routine, but not giving up your routine. Variety is the spice of life and fitness too. You can always throw in a few of my videos to boost your results.
